What Wall Color Would Go Well With Tan Carpet And Sage Couches?

This will be in a basement with some natural light (there are 2 window wells), but I still want a light color on the walls to make the area seem brighter. Would a light yellow work? Or should I stick with a tan a few shades lighter than the carpet? If other colors would work, suggestions would be appreciated!

A sandy beige or pale yellow will reflect light and make the area brighter.
These might help you decide which one appeals to you. http://danrenzi.typepad.com/stuff/images…http://beehivestudio.typepad.com/.shared…

    Hi Aggie
I think your right yourself, a lighter tan would be the right way to go or a nice cream, hessian or biscuit colour would look great against the sage sofas.
There are a few great colours for a tan and sage palette but you dont want it too take away any of your light.
So after you have done a nice creamy wall for example, why dont you whack some big bright cushions or art work in there, say in a bright orange or something you like. Or for balance and to lift the carpet colour up, add some brown, creams and gold in there too.
Add a big lamp and some greenery.
    :)

I think a light crisp shade of aqua or light blue would light it up too, but be sure you have pillows and other accents in sage and aqua/blue to bring it all together. . And, yes, yellow would work too. Just be sure it’s very light…think Butter!

Either a deeper sage than the couches or try a nice milk chocolate brown.

White would probably look best and give your room the biggest feel
