When I Use The Dyson Animal On My Area Rugs, On The Carpet Setting, It Makes Loud Noises, Is This Normal?

or should i use the bare floor setting on my area rugs?

    I know what your talking about. I just bought the animal last week. and it seems when I switch surfaces it makes a loud noise. Its just for a second but it scares the crap out of me. I think its because its not leveled before we continue onto another floor surface..cause if you go slow after coming off the rug it seems to not do it for me..Hope I could help..

    make sure there is nothing in the brush compartment. i once had a nail in mine and everytime I used it, it had a horrible noise. Figured out what it was, and have never heard it again.

    The Animal is not as loud as our Hoover was. It is bearable, until you get the fringe of the oriental rugs in it! It makes a horribly loud noise when the fringe is being vacuumed.
