What Is The Best Type Of Pad To Put Between An Oriental Carpet And A Parquet Floor?

My carpets are low pile. I need a non-skid underlay, but not something that will disintegrate with age. How much smaller than the carpet should the underlay be cut?

You don t want a pad or under lay at all between a rug and wood. Your pads will discolor and possible ruin the wood.
What you should have is a non slip mat that is very thin and keeps the rug some slipping and bunching.
They come made for rugs over wood, hard surface and rugs over carpet.
They feel tacky and hold very well but will loose the tackiness as they collect dirt. Wash them and they come right back to full use. Cut with scissors and trim to an inch or so to the edge.
Any questions you can e mail me through my avatar. GL
