How Do You Dry A Carpet Still Damp From Steam Cleaning (2 Days Ago)?

Rented a steam cleaner from B&Q to do bedroom carpet (average sized bedroom). Have had the heat on for two days straight, and much of the carpet is still damp, though it’s less wet than it was.
Should I wait a bit longer or buy a dehumidifier (just for this purpose)?

keep the heat turned up and keep the doors to the room open.. try running some fans in there.. try and borrow or buy a cheap electric heater with a fan.. probably cheaper than a dehumidifier..

You need to rent an industrial drier (very cheap). Go to Lowes, Home Depot, etc. They can rent one or more to you for a couple of hours or by the day. They look like plastic snails. They are used to rid a building of water damage. It depends on how much water is in the carpet as to how long it will take to dry. This is the fastest way that I know how to get something like you describe dry.

If it was me I would not have the heat up to much. Just a bit with air stirring. What happens if the room is to hot the humidity will build up and keep the moisture in the rooms and the carpets will not dry. Yes dehumidifier would help. Fans would help too along with the dehumidifier. Air stirring so important.

If you can borrow a fan or a heater from someone this will help . It all depends where you live! if you can open the window the fresh air will take care of it . The next time that you steam clean the carpet try to vacuum as much water that you can, you have left too much water behind or maybe the steam cleaner was faulty. If you don’t air the room you will end up with a musty smell.
