Lysol bathroom foaming cleaner!!!!!! works well for cats too.
Spray on area and leave to soak in. Dab with wet towel or paper towels to absorb.

What you tried should have worked for the majority, but seeing carpet pulled up when an animal pees on it, you can see why the smell never goes away. It seeps into the pad and down into the floor. It’s icky! I have sprinkled arm and hammer floor powder on a floor everyday, even letting people walk on it, then vac. and also the odor neutralizer sprays work wonders. Spray every day around the room when you go to work or whatever. Good luck!

It would be a better idea to have your carpet steam cleaned. if you start spot cleaning you will end up with patches of clean / dirty carpet. But if this is not possible ammonia and lemon juice will rid the smell

Try putting the baking soda on the carpet, kind of like when you use renuzit, wait about 15-20 minutes and then vaccuum. Don’t be skimpy on it either. Then follow up with Febreze or a pet odor remover you can find at most pet stores. If no luck after that, sell the house….
