What’s The Best And Cheapest Way To Clean Carpet?

I have gray carpet with various stains, including cool-aid, paint, tea, and other stuff, all of which have been there a while.

I bit the bullet and bought ($149 plus tax) A Bissel Carpet Steamer Pro. It is wonderful. I have cleaned my carpets, my mother in laws carpets and a friends carpets. Fast easy & it does a good job. For less then Stanley Steamer was going to charge me to clean mine once I own the machine.

replace it. seriously, it might cost more to try to clean it in the long run. Try replacing it, and get better carpet.

A tiny drop of ammonia in water and a scrub brush! Saw this on “House Clean is Your House.”

If you have kids and carpet, get a steam cleaner. I have a little purble Bissel and it’s TOO SMALL for any room. I should have paid more than $88 but it’s super for small jobs. It doesn’t heat though, so get one that does if you get one.
Also, in my ds’s room we put down carpeting. His was a total mess from 9 years of kids and dogs growing up in there. So, we went to Lowes and got the giant carpet that they sell on ROLLS. We got a piece big enough for his room and put it down over the old carpet (after cleaning it best we could.) We didnt tack it down or anything. It’s worked great. Then when he’s a little older we will replace all together. This was a nice fix for company, though.
