What Wall Color Will Look Good With Pinkish Red Carpet?

I am moving into a house that has what I call lipstick red (dark pink/red) carpet. The walls need to be painted and I really don’t want to paint them white. Any suggestions??

A pretty shade of medium green with a white or off-white paint on the baseboard and other trim. Red (even with a pink tinge), medium to dark green, and brown (like in the furniture) go together well. Is this carpet through-out? Then I’d just paint maybe just the dining room walls green.

I’d stay away from blue for certain, it may give you a 3-D effect. How about a neutral, soft, putty color? Then you could even work some red in your details like curtains, pillows, etc.
Have you tried out the virtual room painters at places like Lowe’s online? They are cool to play around with and it’ll give you a good idea of what color family you’ll like.
    Good luck!

I would go with a cream tone– beige, tan.

    “Filoli Honey” by Valspar
It’s a soft orange mixed with lots of white

Check out “Westhighland White” by sherwin williams. It’s not a *white* white, but more of a creamy, light tan:http://sherlink.sherwin.com/swapp/color_…
