Is There A Way To Reverse Damage From Bad Carpet Cleaning Product?

I used Woolite Oxy Deep on a few places on my very old, dirty teal carpet, and the areas I used it on it look slightly blue-green. It hasn’t dried fully yet, but I want to know if this means the carpet has been discolored. If so, is there anything I can use to correct the problem? What is the best way to clean a medium-pile carpet? Home machine or professional? Please tell me which machine or service you recommend. Thanks!

When you were dabbing the spot with the rag, did you get color on the rag. If so this means that the colors bled. If no color was on the rag, then maybe this is the true color of the carpet. Your best bet, especially since you say it is dirty, is to have the whole carpet professionally cleaned. They can get it a whole lot cleaner than you could ever do with a rented machine. That way you would know for sure if you bleached out the areas or not. The best treatment for carpet spills is plain water and a white rag. Some of the carpet spotters that are available can actually set the stain.
