How Do You Get The Smell Out Of Your Carpet When Dog Pees On It?
I have been house training my puppy, and she sometimes makes mistakes and pees in different places in the house. How do I get the smell out of the carpet? It is obviously difficult to steam clean it everytime she pees…so is there any thing I can do to make it smell better?

You could try using Nature’s Miracle. It’s sold at many pet stores and you can find it at Petsmart.

A carpet cleaner man once told me to pour vinegar on the area. I know vinegar smells but, it goes away.

I use a wool-lite brand made for pets. I buy it from walmart.

Try washing it out then maybe lemon juice?
Otherwise i have a carpet / upholstery cleaner that is citris scented. Best stuff i ever bought & it cleans really well – has a disinfectant in it also.

What I do is I take Seltzer or a carbonated water and pour it on to the carpet. I then dab it and let it dry. Afterwards, sprinkle some baking soda onto it to eliminate the remaining smell. Together, this gets rid of the stain and odor.
Good luck!

We use a product called Natures Miracle that we get at the pet store for our pets’ accidents. It has enzymes that are supposed to neutralize the scent (which also helps keep them from marking the same spot again). It seems to work best of the ones we’ve tried.

They have this stuff you can spray on the floor that’s made by the people that make Febreeze and it makes it smell a lot better and helps with the stains. You might also want to get some pee pads, those help so if he does make a mistake and goes in the house than he can at least pee on a pad instead of on the carpet. I would go to your local pet store and see what they have in the cleaning sections.

I’ve used Nature’s Miracle for my last two pups. It’s a non perfumed stain/odor enzyme remover and I liked it better than white vinegar or baking soda.

replace the carpet AND pad. take the dog outside more often and confine it to a non-carpeted part of the home the rest of the time.
