How Do I Get Cat Pee Smell Out Of My Carpet?
I came across some stuff called urine Gone that is supposed to work really well. Has anyone else tried it? Does it work? Does it stain or bleach the carpet? I’ve been steam cleaning the carpet about once every two weeks, bu tthe cat kept peeing. I have since given her to someone else so now I need something that will surefire remove the smell but without ruining the carpet because I rent my apartment. Help!!!

My cat did the same thing a few years ago. She found one spot, I’d spend about 2 hours with a shampooer and a scrubber trying everything. Then I’d smell it again and she had done it again. Finally let her outside. She wanted to be out before. She didn’t like using the litter box, so she wanted to be able to go outside…she did it once since because I left her in the house when I was gone all day. Shout (clothing stain remover) is the best thing I tried. Spray it so it will get into the matting and let it sit for about an hour. Then rinse it well with the shampooer. It takes a while to get it all out, since shout sudds a little. But it worked great.
– I’ve heard other people use baking soda and diluted vinegar.

Urine Gone works well (and comes with a black light so you can see any hidden “presents”). Hartz also puts out a good product. You can also check with your local pet shop as to what the best product is.
You may also want to invest in a training aid that keeps pets from certain areas, so there won;t be any surprises in certain areas.
Is your cat spayed or neutered? If not, altering your pet should help the problem.

This may also help…but it’s a challenge…and you’ll want a second nose to give his/her opinion when you are done…

Your cat was upset about something. Did you spay her in time? Give her any attention? I hope you gave her to a person and didnt just send her to be put to sleep at a shelter. That’s cruel.

Clean the carpet, and then put lemon on the carpet. I know it sounds odd, but a cat will not pee on or scratch something with lemon on it.
See your vet, there may be a problem with your cat!

Get a dog insted of a cat and you wont have to clean up cat piss all over your house.

Well instead of giving her away, you should’ve called your vet and made an appt. to see if the cat had any problems!! So many people just seem to give away pets when it’s not convenient for them. But use Nature’s Miracle. It works well.
There’s so many other things I could’ve suggested to you that would help stop the cat from peeing if it didn’t have a urinary tract problem. Hopefully it has a good home.
