Is There Any Tricks To Getting Tar Out Of Carpet?

I have carpet that I have cleaned many times and I cant get the tar stains out of it. Is there any tricks to getting it out?

    I would try wd-40 or clear kerosene. Just be careful because of the smell from kerosene. I’ve also used something called afta. You can get it hardware stores. You just need to let it soak for a little

    Wal-Mart carries it. It`s great stuff. It will also remove candle wax, gum, etc.

    I might try WD-40. it probably will not affect the carpet color since its just a lubricant. I use roofing tar out of a caulk gun and when that stuff gets on your hands it could be days before its gone but WD-40 takes it right off in seconds, with a little elbow grease. then I would wash with a mild detergent like dish soap to get the WD-40 out. good luck

    Go-Jo or similar hand cleaner. Apply strait on stain and scrub with no water. After stain is lifted, use water to rinse and dissolve Go-Jo. Go-Jo is a solvent of hydrocarbons that dissolves in water. Works on anything oil based.
