How Do You Clean Tassels On A Carpet?

While “house-sitting” I overwatered a plant and soil water darkened the tassells on a very large expensive carpet. Carpet is fine, but the tassells aren’t.
Thanks!

take the rug outside, on the driveway and mix a bleach and vinegar then brush the tassels, don’t get it on the rug, then clear water to rine and let dry…I use to make big money doing this in the rug cleaning business.

Tassels are difficult to clean. Try spot cleaning or delicate hand washing using cleaning agents specifically for area rugs. If you’re still not satisfied with the results, send them to the cleaners..=)
