How To Get Terrible Set In Stains Out Of Your Carpet?
Here is the deal we moved in to a new house recently and have discovered some terrible smells and stains in the basement carpet we have tried shampooing about 5 times in a row and it just won`t get out of the carpet (we figure it is urine from the previous owner`s pets) so how can I get these disgusting stains out of my carpet? (note that I don`t have any vinegar on hand). Is there an inexpensive way we can do this?

There is only one way to get rid of the stains and smell and that is pet odor and stain remover. You can get it in the pet dept. at walmart or a grocery store. It has enzymes in it that”eat” the stain and odor. Follow the directions and you’ll be fine.

You can try a pet stain and odour remover, however, if you have ever seen a urine stained carpet pulled up and removed, you will quickly find out why the odour stays behind. Seeing as how you have already washed it 5 times without any success it appears the problem is pretty aggressive. Urine odors can permeate from the floor, be it cement or wood, from the tack strip, and even from the framework of the house behind the walls depending on where the pet urinated. As the urine dries, the liquid evaporates but the urine crystals become even more concentrated and pungent. In some cases the flooring may need to be cleaned and treated.
Unfortunately the only way to ensure that the carpet is clean and odour free is to change the carpeting or you can try pulling the carpeting up and changing out the underlay and scrubbing the sub floor. I feel for you, we just went through this same scenario and it is disgusting and and expense we had not counted on. Good luck. Hopefully the pet stain remover will work for you.
