Any Ideas What Paint Colour Will Look Best With A Black And Grey Fleck Carpet?

the carpet is a thick pile carpet which goes in my hall through to my living room.not sure what colour to go on walls as i dont want it to look cold as it is a family home.i will probably go for a black or grey fabric suite as cream is not practical with kids.any suggestions?

Maybe maroon. Reds I think would look really good with those colors.

I think Semi Gloss Deep Red would be lovely with the
black and grey carpet, With white as an accent.

Black and grey can be such a neutral, you can pick any color and build your decorating around that….deep green, deep red or a combo of earth tone tans and off-whites. As for your suite….A friend of mine with three very small kids got white cotton duck slipcovers for her furniture. She loves them….she gets the clean white look she wanted and when the kids dirty them, she just throws them in a hot washer with a dose of bleach and they look good as new.

sure….for the wall color i would go with something like a medium to dark blue…….far wall dark for accent…and the other walls a variation of that blue
i suggest you find a print fabric that will incorporate some black and gray and blue and green………as well as a very light color for some contrast to brighten up the room for the window treatments .
Perhaps a medium green with some small geometrical pattern in it.
this fabric has a great natural look: http://www.fabric.com/quilting-fabric-sh…
    or a more geometrical pattern:http://www.fabric.com/quilting-fabric-sh…
and get a comfy yet durable couch and loveseat for the living room that can be covered with solid colored slip covers in a dark gray…punched up with some bright colorful accent pillows…( can be thrown in the wash when they become stained or soiled…or even replaced if necessary)
With this color scheme you can add natural elements that lend themselves well to the green and gray…..
such as a glass bowl or tray with river rocks ( kids love to play with these and who cares if they mess them up a bit?)
A small tabletop rock fountain on an accent table by a comfy chair……..to give you a place to sit, relax, and unwind when the kids go to bed.
Add lots of plants, (non-poisonous), and let the kids help you care for them. Great learning for the kids and will make the air much healthier for the whole family. (Plants are natural air filters)
Find pictures of beautiful leaves …framed….for wall art
This room will make you feel less ‘trapped inside’ when you are home with the kids all day.

white or cream undercoat, with a black and gray flecked faux overspray on the walls would be beautiful.

I would paint it something like “soft apricot” by Sherwin Williams.http://sherlink.sherwin.com/swapp/color_…
Apricot will really make the black pop while simultaneously keeping the room warm & cozy.
