Get her something to scratch like a log. They like to scratch the bark. Don't get her one of those cat things covered with carpet or she won't see the difference between one carpet and the other. I got my cat a round thing about 18" across that has corrugated cardboard inthe center and a track with a ball along the outside rim. She loves it and never scratches the carpet.
