How Can I Get Dog Poop Smell Out Of The Carpet?

What’s the most effective home remedy to get dog poop smell out of the carpet? The carpet has been scrubbed and shampooed and cleaned up, but the smell is still punching me in the face. It had Febreeze sprayed on it like no tomorrow. This all happened just a couple of hours ago and the smell is not lifting.
Yes, time will help it go away, but is there something I can do to the carpet NOW to at least help?
Thank you!

I always use a 50/50 mixture of vinegar and water. It has always taken the smell away. After that dries I usually use spot shot on the area. You may smell the vinegar for a few hours after using it, but it will eventually go away.
