How Do I Clean My Moldy Smelling Carpet?
Please don’t tell me get new carpet cause I’m only 13. So I spilt water in the middle of my room on accident and I let it dry and after a couple days it started smelling. How do I take care of it. I put some bakig soda on it for now. I also lightly sprayed rubbing alcohol on it to kill it. What else. Use carpet shampoo? What. I really need help.

Try placing a fan(so the fan blows) on the area that was wet so it can help dry up what is wet underneath the carpet. I would suggest you try what Tammy suggested because it isn’t going to hurt anything by doing so. Good Luck!!!

This will work-It worked on my grand-babies bed.Spray with warm water (lightly) put white vinegar on the carpet area of spill.Let it sit for 45 minutes.Gently rub all moisture out. When dry-next day put 1 tsp baking soda on it.Leave it overnight. The smell will be long gone. Its the combination that will eliminate any odor.

Yup usually you kill mold with bleach but that will ruin your carpet. Get the carpet dried out and eventually it will stop smelling. Try Febreze or another fabric odor removal spray but that is going to make it wet again. Basically you’re out of luck, sorry.
