How Do You Clean The Carpet Padding Without Removing The Carpet?
I live in an apartment and have a dog. I recently found out that after I move out they will bring in some kind of black light contraption that will beable to see the padding undering carpet. I will have to replace the carpet if they find many spots were accidents happened. How do I clean the padding since I can not remove the carpet? Also what is the best cleaner to use for this process?

Try using a cleaner specifically designed to break down the proteins in pet urine. You will not be able to necessarily get down to the pad, but you will be able to get to what the black light will show. A black light simply causes some biological proteins (like blood, semen and urine) to fluoresce (or glow). All you have to do to determine if you have a problem is get a black light (they sell black light bulbs that will fit in an ordinary lamp). Then darken the shades (or do this at night with low lighting). Any concentrations of biological proteins will glow. You can then attack those areas with the dog urine enzymatic cleaners.
You’ll be fine…its not too hard to clean up.

Well I guess you could go into your basement and rip the floor down and then clean the pads…. Seems a little drastic, but if you insist.

i never heard of a black light to discover spots UNDER a carpet. Truth is you can’t clean the padding without removing the carpeting that I know . Call Stanley Steamer or any other professional carpet cleaner and ask them. Also try having it professionally cleaned.
