How Do I Remove Dry Interior Paint From Carpet ?
I spilled paint on my carpet but it dried faster than I could find something to get it up with. The color is a dark country blue/grey such as shale. I also have fingernail polish and benedryl on the carpet from the children getting into things. I have until monday to get these stains out as I am moving monday afternoon out of state.

A similar product to goof off is OOPS. I have had better luck with OOPS for removing latex paint. Test it in an out of sight area to see if it affects the carpet dyes. The nail polish might need a stronger solvent like lacquer thinner or cleanwood. OOPS should work on benedryl.

I just did this today. Use Goof off (Home Depot or Lowes). It will definitely work but beware it will stink up the entire house for awhile so you may want to do it and get the kids out of the house for a couple of hours.

OOps and goo off, goo gone etc all it is is denature alcohol…It will get latex paint off(water based), but not oil based… It will not get fingernail polish off, for it is a solvent based..acetone…Below is what denatured alcohol looks like, available at wal mart ..home depot..any diy store…It is alot cheaper to buy denatured alcohol then the brand products such as goo gone etc, and is the same thing..here is a link to a picture that shows you the can…cost is about 1/3 the price than the little cannisters of goo gone etc…As far as the fingernail polish..try some acetone in a area that can not be seen for s test to see if it will take the color out of the carpet…http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000SL3S6Y?smid…

Try some water and some dish soap detergent. Warm water.

There are two chemiclas that will take the paint off. Goof Off, or Goo gone. They will remove the paint and do little to no damage to your carpet. You can get these products in the paint department at Home Depot or Lowes. I think they will take the fingenail polish off, I do not know about the benedryl.

Sounds bleak. There might be some kind of chemical solution, but that would depend on the color fastness of the carpet.
I would try a wire brush, just make sure that it is completely dry before attempting this or you will just smear it.
Good luck.
