Do The Large-area Foaming Carpet-cleaner Sprays Really Work?
I just had to ask, do the foaming carpet-cleaner sprays that you spray on the carpet, rub them in, and then vacuum up, really work? Or do they just add more junk to your carpet fibers?

I’ve used the Resolve high-traffic foam. At first I was happy with it, but a few weeks later, I notice that the stains are still there, just fainter and larger, actually. *Sigh*
I used it to clean cat stains from my carpet. It seemed to do the trick OK at first, but it didn’t completely clean the stain. A few weeks/months later, I noticed traces of the stains remain and seem to have been spread out. It’s as though the product didn’t actually CLEAN the stain, but rather diluted it. Disappointing.
I stumbled across this question while I was looking for another answer I saw a couple weeks ago that recommended some mixture of Febreeze Microbial and original Listerine. I think the mixture was recommended to get urine stains out of memory foam, but I got to think the other day that it might also work for getting pet stains out of carpeting.
Good luck in your quest for answers.

I find they don’t work well. Half vinger and half water makes the best spot remover.
Get a perfesional clean, then try your best to keep it that way. Scotch gard your carpets to help make it easyer to clean spils

They work ok to get the stain out but ruin the carpet! My husband is a carpet cleaner, and every time that you use these store bought products that leave soapy residue make it so you void the warranty on your carpet. It is safer to hire a carpet cleaner to remove the stain. It will cost you lots more in the long run to use the store bought product.
Good Luck!

both- they make the dirt on the surface of your carpet “rise” to the top for vacuuming- yet the detergent in them that makes the bubbles partially stay in the fibers. There really is no complete way to rid your carpet of dirt. you can only clean the surface to a minimal degree.

I use Resolve high-traffic foam and I absolutely love it! It works really well. If you’re worried about any left-over residue, just take a large rag dampened with hot water and scrub back over the spot. Then vacuum when it’s dry.
