I’ve owned this Steamer for a month now, before this the only other steamer I have used was a 15 year old Bissel. I have used it 3 times, and I have to say, I love this thing! It did a great job on my 5 year old high traffic carpet. I did not have any stains or anything, but it really made the carpet stand up again, and it made a noticable difference. This steamer is super easy to use, both tanks can be removed easily and quickly, with no mess. The rotating brushes pop off easily for cleaning. Removing hair or whatever doesn’t go into the tank is also very easily removed. I would highly recommend this to anyone, especially for the price. With the exception of adding water, this is almost as easy to use as a regular vacuum cleaner.

I saw the product at a retailer, then saw it priced less on Amazon (plus no tax or shipping), so I said what the heck, try it. I have a medium-tan carpet and two dogs and two cats. The cleaner was easy to assemble. All you need is a phillips screw driver. I’m not to swift at using carpet cleaners, but once I got the hang of it, it was easy to use and it REALLY WORKED!
One of the attractive features is the large waste tank. It allows you to cover allot of area before stopping to empty it. Also, the vacuum really sucks up the water/cleaner solution in the carpet, the carpet dried really fast. I wouldn’t hesitate using it the same day if I were hosting a family get together. I highly recommend this SteamVac.

I bought this cleaner to remove cat urine. I used the pet cleaner. I used it for thirteen hours! This is an excellent product. It is super easy to use, and holds up very well! It is also handy enough to get out and spot clean if needed. I was very impressed.

I am so pleased with this thing. I’m on a cloud.
A year and a half ago I bought a house with a big activity room. The carpet was already old and discolored, and I didn’t bother to clean it before moving in. My dog then spent a lot of time in that room, and let’s just say there were some stains that were pretty disgusting. It got so bad that I was too embarrassed to let visitors go into that room.
I picked this model because of the dual tanks, hand tool, and 6 rotating brushes. (I was worried about it not having a heating unit like the Bissell, but that doesn’t seem to matter.) It was easy to put together and start using. My only expectation was to get the carpet 80% clean so imagine my joy when the stains just started disappearing!
Yes, the tanks fill up quickly, but it’s super easy to dump, clean, and refill. If the tanks were any bigger, the machine would be too big and heavy, like those crazy rentals at the grocery store. The size of this thing is just right.
Plus, when I realized that this machine cost half as much as my Dyson vacuum cleaner, I kicked myself for not having bought one sooner.
If you have carpets and dogs, you must have one of these.

I borrowed my friends Hoover All Terrain and loved it! I wasn’t expecting much from a home cleaner when I normally have a professional once a year. Well I loved how well it cleaned and that you can see the gross dirty water after it was sucked back up. So I was so fascinated by hers I researched online and narrowed it down to two Hoover products – The All Terrain and this Steam Vac Dual V. The All Terrain was a lot more ($60) expensive even though I didn’t see any difference in the product descriptions on Hoover’s site (amps are the same, brushes are the same, and they both do carpet and hard floors, etc). This product works just as well as the more expensive All Terrain and does a great job for home use and saves you money.

This unit was easy to assemble, use, and did a tremendous job of cleaning our pet soiled carpets. I can see how some people complained about the “leaking” problems with the upper tank. However, the problem is not the unit. The tank locks and seals in a way that is counter-intuitive, but if you read and follow the manual there does not seem to be a problem. Time will tell about the durability of the unit, however we feel that we’ve already gotten our money’s worth in one usage.

I love, love, LOVE my new Hoover Carpet Cleaner! The suction on this baby is fabulous and I pulled dirt out of my carpets that I never knew was there! I had no problems with leaking as long as I made sure all the resevoirs were snapped into place.
Pro’s:
1. It comes with a mini bottle of detergent and it was PLENTY to clean 1/3 of my apartment.
2. This machine is great at conserving detergent so you won’t have to blow through solution.
3. The resevoirs are pretty large and extremely easy to disconnect from the machine to empty or refill.
4. The brushes snap off for easy upkeep and cleaning.
5. The handheld tool was fabulous for cleaning my large sofa! I ended up pulling a tank of brown water out of faux suede couch!
6. High traffic areas look brand new and my carpet is fluffy again!
7. This machine is great at removing OLD stains that I thought were going to be permanent.
Cons:
1. The only thing that I can think of is that the detergent and water are kept separate…sooooo…if you put super hot water in your machine, the detergent is going to cool it down by the time you apply it to the carpet. However, the temperature did not seem to affect the ability of the machine to deep clean.
I am extremely happy with this purchase and I am already recommending it to friends!
P.S. The Hoover ULTRA detergent is a fabulous detergent to go with. I used it on my carpets and then bought extra for my RED couch. It didn’t remove any of the dye from my couch, but it sure removed the dirt and sediment!

I was in the market for a good steam cleaner that wouldn’t break my budget. I read the helpful reviews on here and ended up buying this cleaner.
I initially was looking for a cleaner that could do my tile and the large area rugs I have around the house (Imported wool rugs).
I had recently acquired a puppy that decided that potty training was not for him. Also since much of my house is tile it simply would not due to let the expensive carpets go to waste.
The cleaner arrived and I assembled it in about 5 minutes max. I had purchased the pet detergent earlier so I could wash all the rugs ASAP.
It was much easier to push than I had imagined and was very pleased with how well it performed. Like most on here I was absolutely embarrassed the way the water looked after the tank filled up! It became apparent of a few areas that I must have missed on my dogs “accidents” and may have to spot treat those areas. I must say however, I forgot what color these rugs were at one time I guess..including a nice Persian….the colors blew me away after cleaning them!
After reading how the handles on the container broke on one customer I always placed one hand under the containers just in case (They seem like adequate quality to me) Understand there is some dripping when shutting off as is to be expected. I simply prepared for this with a rag…pretty easily handled.
I did try and use this on my floors (tile) and found that it caught on the tiles just a little. I may just keep my old smaller hoover tile scrubber that I was going to give to a friend now…but no big deal, I think it could still be used for that I just think it is not at it’s best for that function.
Be aware if you are looking at the “All Terrain” Hoover this does the same things…not sure what more you get for $120. (I purchased this for $182)
Very good deal, well built, great price…if you cannot tell I rarely write reviews but felt like I should for this product. Amazon shipping was FAST….oh and FREE!

Ten months ago we bought $7000 of new light-colored carpeting. Two months ago we got two new puppies and one new shelter dog (none of which were housebroken), in addition to our other three dogs (one of which is a senior citizen and becoming incontinent). We live in an area with coyotes and mountain lions and we cannot leave our dogs out at night.
Needless to say, our new carpet took a huge, devastating hit while we all adjusted to our new life together. On top of all that, we live in a rural mountain community and the amount of dust and dirt and mud that blows in and/or gets tracked in is astounding, no matter how careful we try to be. I thought a few rooms of carpeting might not be salvageable.
So my Mom’s Day gift to myself was the Hoover F7412-900 SteamVac Dual V Widepath Carpet Cleaner with the Hoover Pet Formula Detergent. O.M.G. My carpet looks and smells absolutely brand new. Stains and odors that I thought might be in the carpet permanently all came out. I’m really shocked. I didn’t expect such a great result.
I love the light clean smell of the Pet Formula… it’s not overpowering by any means (and I used a lot). The Hoover SteamVac and the Hoover Pet Formula detergent saved our carpet.
As far as the SteamVac itself, I find it super easy to refill the clean water tank and empty the dirty water tank. It’s a heavy machine, so I’m glad they didn’t make the tanks any larger, as it would have been way too heavy for me to handle. The way it is now, it’s perfect… I plan to use it frequently for carpet maintenance.
I know I sound like a cheesy infomercial for Hoover now, but I can’t help it. My husband and I are beyond thrilled!
*Several months later… I just posted before/after photos of our dining room (one of the main thoroughfares in our house). I’m a bit ashamed — it’s like announcing to the public what size underwear I buy or publishing pictures of myself without makeup first thing in the morning. I mean, my carpet was THAT bad… but hey, we’re all friends, right? I want you to see the nasty carpet I had and how beautifully restored it was after using the Hoover. Just remember this: push the Hoover slowly back and forth across your carpet. Don’t rush a good thing. You’ll get fabulous results that way.

Ok, here is my experience with the Hoover Dual V F7412-900. (Same as F7411-900) My wife and I purchased a 1300 sq foot house about 8 months ago. The carpet was new when we moved in. (Builder grade). After 8 months it was beyond time to clean it. I was going to rent a rug doctor, but was not excited about lugging it home. My friend offered to loan us his Bissell pro heat steam cleaner. We cleaned the carpets and were so happy with the results, we decided to buy one. When I went out to buy it, I noticed that they changed the design, and the seal was now on the suction tube. I did not think that this was a good idea, nor did I like the bladder idea. So I researched the net to see what I could find. I found good reviews about the Hoover so I thought I would check them out. I liked the dual tank, and on the model I chose it has the separate cleaner tank. So you can get a good idea, let me say that I cleaned the carpet 2 days ago with my friends Bissell. My water exits the tap at 120 degrees. I used about ¾ gallon of Wal-mart pet formula and did not rinse with water only. I have three dogs by the way. I vacuumed with a Dyson animal first. When I cleaned the carpet today with the Hoover, the water was filthy dirty. I only used the rinse cycle because I didn’t want to put more soap on the carpet. Even though the carpet looked and felt clean, it was noticeably cleaner with the Hoover. This cleaner does what it claims to do. Would the Bissell have pulled up the extra dirt on the second rinse? Maybe, but judging by the mud and dirt in the recovery tank, I don’t think so. CONS: Like many comments before me, the tool caddy is worthless. I personally don’t care since I will hang it in the closet. I have not used the tools yet, so I cannot comment on them. The only other thing I noticed was that 3 times the handle for the recovery tank flipped open when I rubbed the couch or wall. The suction keeps the lid on tight, but it was a little annoying. BOTTOM LINE: If the tool caddy is important to you, this IS NOT for you. If you want a GREAT steam cleaner for the money this IS for you. I would buy this again, and recommend it to anyone.
