The Most Beautiful Rug
The handmade carpet industry exploits nearly 300000 children. This has to end, and it will. In 2007, two former child weavers embarked on a multi-city speaking tour with RugMark, the international nonprofit organization devoted to giving children back their childhoods by ending child labor in the handmade carpet industry in South Asia. The Most Beautiful Rug: RugMark’s Campaign to End Child Labor is designed to put an end to this practice by educating consumers, interior designers and the carpet industry about child-labor-free rugs.
