Iran 101 – Persian carpet weaving

The Persian carpet is an essential part of Persian art and culture. Carpet-weaving is undoubtedly one of the most distinguished manifestations of Persian culture and art, and dates back to the Ancient Persia (c.3500 BC).

    Depending on the skill of the weaver, a rug can have as much as 1200 knots per square inch!

    if I’m not mistaken the quality of the carpet depends on the number of knots. Can we order a acrpet with 300 knots per square centimeter? silk carpet size 1 1/2 x 1 meter.
