What Is Something You Can Place On Carpet To Keep Heavy Traffic Areas Clean?
We just cleaned our carpets. It was a horrible pain, but now I am obsessed with keeping those high traffic areas clean. There will be a no shoes policy, but we do have a dog, and just people around will get a (whitish) carpet dirty. Any ideas?

My mom was obsessed with keeping her white carpet clean. She got rolls of plastic and laid them down. I don’t know where she got them; maybe a carpet store.
That’s why I turned against wall-to-wall carpeting and have had wooden floors in all the homes we bought.

my mom used those little washable carpets in the high traffic areas, my aunt bought those clear plastic runners and they both seemed to do the job. i am actually thinking about the clear plastic ones myself since i have 2 dogs it should cut down on the mud for sure.

yes..Buy a same carpet or the like piece and simply have it boardered..It looks nice with the boarder on it after you make the carpet any shape ya wish.. FYI: Usually cost about 50 cents a foot for carpets to be boardered.

You can use throw rugs or plastic runners. They work well with high traffic areas and are easy to clean and replace when needed.

Use runners and spot rugs that match or complement your carpet.

If it is a straight area that is the high traffic , you can get plastic runners to lay on the carpet. They sell them at Walmart and they are less than 20.00 for a 10 foot section. They are easy to wipe clean and save the carpet beneath.

I have clear plastic runners near the front door area, and I have some pretty carpet runners in other traffic areas. I make sure I buy the washable rugs so I can put them in the washer and dryer. They really help keep these areas clean.

Putting down rugs or having the same carpet binded is a good idea. Just make sure you put a pad undneath it. They make them specifically for putting carpet on carpet. Otherwise, the backing on the carpet or rug will damage the carpet underneath it. You can usually get the pads pre-cut to standard sizes.
