How To Wash My Bathroom Rugs With Rubber Backs?
My batroom rugs have become quite dirty…earlier I used to wash it by hand but it is very tedious.I know it can be washed in a machine using a gentle cycle. My washing machine is a very simple one…the ones that usually comes with apartments.I have put the settings to cold/cold but am not sure which cycle to choose…the cottons (light/normal/heavy/extra heavy) or the wrinkle free (extra light/light/normal/heavy)
Can anybody tell me about it…??

just wash it in your machine with cold water on the lightest setting possible. then stick it in your dryer on an air dry setting, or hang them up to dry.
It’s heat that cause problems with the fiber and rubber backing.
Good Luck and Happy Cleaning.

I wash mine with my towels, but hang the rugs to dry. It’s the heat from a dryer that ruins the rugs, not washing them.

I use cold water for my rugs. I don’t put them in the dryer, the dryer causes the backing to fall apart….

I wash mine on warm, normal or gentle setting, but never dry them in the dryer. Actually, I either just put them on the floor damp from the washer or hang them over the tub or shower rod to dry. If they are really dirty, I will soak them ( just shut off the machine and let them sit in the soapy water, then turn the machine back on).

I just washed mine today…. I’ve had them for 5 yrs. and I wash them on cold/cold permanent press regular detergent… The backing looks/feels brand new.. I’ve only dried them in the dryer and handful of times…. I usually lay flat or hang to dry…

You can wash them on a gentle cycle but over time the rubber backing will start falling apart.

wash on a light or gentel wash in cold water! if they are light colors use a little shout in the water! let wash a few min. then stop washer to soak! air dry! after awhile the backing starts to crack! but with time this will happen anyway!
