What Color Goes Best With A Dark Blue Carpet?
I have a dark blue carpet in my entire apt. but i dont know what color to paint my walls.I want a warm color. I am not going to change the carpet but I would like colors to match it. It is a large space. I have a den, living room, and dinning room (they are all somewhat connected) and i would like to have different colors that blend nicely.

Maple or ash looks terrific w/dark navy blue carpeting. Light colored woods are the way to go.

white, any kind of lighter blue, no warm colors really don’t match with navy blue except for red….

a light yellow would look really good, if that is your taste.
or any type of beige/neutral color.

i luv the suggestion of wheat. i would also say you can do a peach beige (more beige than peach, and not so light)
brighten the room with lots of sconces or recessed lighting to highlight the beautiful areas. add matted artwork to the walls (white or almost-white matting)
there are lamps that affix right to the wall giving the effect of a sconce with a long bottom portion. you might wanna consider that too

A nice neutral beige will work well for you. you can add an accent wall in a darker shade or apply a golden glaze over one wall in each room for more dramatic effect.
Please don’t try to match, think of coordinating instead.
Good Luck

Warm Colors:
ivory
peach, orange
yellow, gold
lime, kelly
aqua, turquoise
caramel, coffee
Use first color for walls, and second for accessories; or vice versa.
Or paint all walls neutral colors [ ivory, caramel, coffee ] and use pastels and brights for accessories.
Or, paint all rooms flow thru colors – peach [ LR ] opens to yellow [ DR ], opens to lime [ den ]. Use yellow accessories in LR, ’cause flows into DR; then use green accessories in DR, ’cause flows to den, and use peach accessories in den!
[This is just an example; use colors you like ].

I would suggest a gold, something like Sherwin Williams’ “escapade gold.” And if you’re looking for a different color for the dining room, you might try “interesting aqua” or “ionic ivory.” http://sherlink.sherwin.com/swapp/color_…
