How Much Value Would Tiles And Carpet Add To My House?
I want top get my house revalued. I have painted the whole house inside and out, so it looks nice. The only bad part is the floor. It has really old, prehistoric old lino on the floor. And it is covered in paint too but not lefting or anything. Would it be beneficial to tile and carpet the house before i get it valued? It is going to cost me a few thousand $, and just wondering if my valuation will go up a few thousand to make it worth while?

Linolium is very cheap and not preferred these days, adding tile will be HUGE, it’s a lot more modern and up-to-date and way more durable and it looks great too. If you could do it yourself, it would be way cheaper because you can get 8×8 tiles on sale/clearance at home depot/lowes usually for like 70-80 cents/sq ft. That’s what we do when we re-do rooms, it looks hard to do yourself, but it’s actually kinda fun!! I can give you tips if you need them, as far as the carpet, you’d also get your money back on that in the value it’d give your home, we also save money buy doing it ourselves but if you had to hire someone, it still shouldn’t be too expensive.
Don’t worry at all though, hypothetically speaking, if you put in like $3,000 for the carpet and tile and to get it installed, your home’s value (depending on where you live) would probably go up $5-10,000.

Carpets will definitely add value to your home. What could be more pleasing than seeing oriental persian indian rugs spread in the living drawing or bed room.
Plus, if you buy them directly from India, you will not have to spend much less than their retail value in USA and even make a profit on them in a whole.

It may not add a lot of value but it will make the house more attractive and likely to sell if that is your goal. You should be able to at least get your money back.

i think it will help as people viewing property always notice the bad points and use that as a reason to negotiate the price
