How Do You Get Rid Of Cat Pee In A Carpet?

My cat peed on my carpet a few months ago, and we cleaned it with 409 carpet cleaner and tried a few other things, but now the smell is coming back. I’ve heard that a combination of hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and dish washing liquid will work. Does anyone have any input that could help?

Nature’s Miracle is the only best thing product I’ve ever used to get rid of nasty cat urine. Cats urine contains oily substance that cause really bad odor that won’t go away, because it is oily like skunk’s squirts! It is designed in spray or pour bottle and specifically designed to get rid of pet accident odors really really well. You can find it at small local pet store. I’m not sure if chain stores like Petco or Petsmart sell those.
Vinegar is not recommend because it will make marking worse. Vinegar has ammonia-like smell and cat pee has ammonia smell so therefore they smell like urine and can make cats pee on the area again.

Nature’s Miracle, followed by a thorough steam cleaning should help, depending on the severity of the stains. If the cat repeatedly soiled the same area, it is possible that it soaked through the carpet and padding and into the subflooring. If this is the case, you will need to pull up and replace the section of carpet and padding that was soiled and paint the subflooring with Killz to seal in the odor.
Petco and Petsmart both carry Nature’s Miracle.

go to the pet store, or any other store that sells cleaning products for your carpet that dissolve pet odors and stains. natures miracle, or anything arm an hammer works well. :) . they are good for pre-treating, then you can steam vac the area or by hand with soap, water, and rag.

Here is a site that I would highly recommend. They have very high quality stain removal techniques. I would suggest repeating the process after the first application, and rinsing the rug out with cool water in between applications. Best of luck!
