What’s The Best Way To Get Rid Of Mold In A Carpet?
I was removing wallpaper in my living room, and excess water from the process dripped onto the carpet. Because of how humid it was at the time and because I didn’t get to it right away, now I have a mild case of green mold on the carpet in that area. What’s the best way to kill it and clean the carpet? Will it just die on it’s own now that the air is dry and there is no additional moisture supply?

Have the carpet cleaned by a professional that specializes in water damage clean-up. They can treat the carpet with a mold and mildew killer, that won’t bleach or stain.

You must get rid of the carpet, you will be inhaling toxic fumes from the carpet mold. Over a period of time the mold will grow and inhabit the entire carpet. Remember the mold is odorless.
Please use ventilation protection when removing the carpet, mold is a cancer causing agent. Be safe and I hope this help.

You have to kill mold with bleach, so get rid of that rug and lay down some wood floors. It’s not really healthy to have carpet in the home; it holds onto everything.

When its in the carpet.. throw it out. when its on the walls.. Go to Home depot they sell a liquid just for this problem.. but you may have to steam clean the walls with this liquid enclosed in a bottle as your washing the walls.. But, It does work..

Unfortunately, mold is very hard to get rid of without removing the carpet. In fact, I’m not sure you can. Good luck.
