How To Get Pet Stains Out Of Carpet For Good?

My dog had an accident on the carpet when I couldn’t get home in his usual time to go outside to go potty. Is there a sure fire way to fully get urine and feces out of the carpet? My son is just starting to crawl and I don’t want traces of stuff in the carpet for him to crawl all over.

Here’s a great tip from an article at the Scott Common Sense Community:http://www.scottcommonsense.com/NeatAndC…
Soak up as much as you can with a combination paper towels and newspaper. The more you can remove before it dries, the easier it will be to remove the odor. Then, place a thick layer of paper towels on the wet spot and cover with a thick layer of newspaper. If possible, put newspaper under the soiled area as well. Stand on this padding for about a minute. Remove the padding and repeat the process until the area is barely damp. Spray the area with an enzymatic cleaner to combat the odor. Wait about five minutes and then rinse thoroughly with clean, cool water. After rinsing, blot up as much moisture as possible with a paper towel. As an extra measure to remove lingering odors, sprinkle baking soda on the spot after it dries. Let it sit overnight, then vacuum.

Having a pet, home steam cleaners are a great investment. A great product to use in them is Zep 7-in-1 carpet cleaner. Also, vinegar is a great household item for stains & smells. For a small spot, make a solution of warm water, a little dish soap, and a good splash of vinegar. With a clean cloth, blot the spot with the solution (you can also use a small brush to lift up & out), then blot again with clean water.

use this and ALWAYS use this first! other catch-all stain removers can actually make the stain color fast b/c of all of the harsh chemicals. especially b/c you have a baby you want to A. remove all traces of the stain and B. do it safely.
this guide uses green and benign common household items to SAFELY and PERMANENTLY remove all traces of your stain…

Steam cleaner will get it out – but never all of the staining. That just goes through to the pad and underlayment. That is why (especially with owning pets) I will never have rugs in my house again.

You should call a professional carpet cleaner. They will use Cleaners that take the yellow out. It will also take the smell and any traces out so the dog doesn’t reuse the same area as a toilet.

rent or invest in a steam cleaner I don’t know what I would do without it.
