How To Remove Red Candle Wax From Carpet?

My stupid dog managed to knock over a table last night that had a burning red candle on it. It got ALL over my white carpet and the wall. What’s the best way to remove it to save the carpet & the wall?
I’ve heard I should freeze the wax with ice and then scrape it off, and then iron over a brown paper bag to remove the rest of the wax. The only issue is I’ve also heard the heat can set the stain into the carpet. What can I do to make sure there’s no stain?

    For the carpet:
    Freeze the wax with ice.
    Scrape it off.
Carefully trim the carpet with sharp scissors.
    For the wall:
Use the edge of a plastic fork to scrape it off.
Use lemon juice, rubbing alchohol, or vinegar to remove stains.

Actually, the best way to get any kind of wax off of a surface is to:
    1. First take a towel (sort of thin, maybe 1/2″ thick towel) and lay it on the wax
    2. Take a clothes iron and iron on the towel that you laid upon the wax
This should make the wax absorb into the towel allowing you to simply pull it right away from the carpet.

Most of the answerers here did not read the entire question. You will likely be left with the stain on a white carpet. Is it possible to position the rug another way so the stain falls under a piece of furniture? As far as the wall goes, rub ice on the wall and try to scrape it off with a single edged razor blade or sand it off and touch up the paint.Good luck.

Take a brown paper shopping bag lay it over the wax, then take a clothes iron and use it ontop of the brown paper bag which would be placed over your spilled wax. It will pull the wax into the paper bag with nothing left on your carpet
