How Do I Get Alcohol Smell Out Of Carpet?

My room mate recently spilled some vodka on the carpet and we were wondering what could be used to get rid of the smell. We used some air freshener but we believe that is only temporary. Thanks in advance.

Rubbing alcohol is used for a variety of stains and odors. It has an odor of its own, but the product dissipates into the air rapidly and takes a lot with. Do a test spot in an area that no one will notice.
I like the baking soda answer better.
