he is most likely upset about living in a new place…go to a pet store and buy a product called “Comfort Zone with Feliway” it is either a plug in or a spray and it contains a pheromone that helps calm cats down…or have him checked at a vet…we used to have a cat that would pee on the floor when he had a urinary tract infecton…also make sure you have enough litterboxes…at least one per cat

Was he using the litterbox faithfully before you moved?
He may just not like were it is in your new house. If it’s just one place he’s peeing in try putting his food there until the habit is broken that usually works for me – they don’t like to pee where they eat.

He may have done it initially because of stress, strange new smells, etc… but he will keep going in the same area if you don’t get rid of the pee, completely. In all my years and years of pet ownership, the best product I’ve used is called Nature’s Miracle. You can find it at PetsMart, PetCo, places like that. You have to completely saturated every single place he has peed, it must go down into the carpet pad and everything. Keep him away from the areas (my cats always hated tin foil, that kept them away) until completely dry. I’ve had to start using the stuff again recently due to my youngest child having a potty-training regression, and it works just as well on her pee as it did the cat’s.

I would try the following in the order I list them:
1. Take him to the vet and make sure he doesn’t have any urinary problems (like crystals). If everything is clean, ask the vet about anti-depressants or anti-anxiety to help him with the possible stress of the move.
2. Spray Feliway around the house, especially in his favorites spots.
3. Change his litter and the location
4. Use Nature’s Miracle to clean up soiled spots
But also be aware, I’ve had the same exact problem and there was nothing I could do. I tried EVERYTHING. I changed the litter, the location of the litter boxes, Nature’s Miracle, Feliway, keeping him in one room, took him to the vet for possible urinary infections, and prescribed anti-depressants from the vet. NOTHING worked. When your cat walks on carpet, it feels like grass for him. He feels like he can bury it within the carpet. The only thing that’s worked for me is hard floors (we chose Bamboo).

he may be stressed over the move as this happens to animals too
you might want to try getting one more litter box for him so he can use any of the two I had the same problem years ago with a female cat so I got an other one & it worked she stopped peeing on the carpet
also a good idea to invest in a good odor/stain remover for the carpets

I work in retail so I have a customer that comes in who is a dog whisper and he told me that the best thing to do is go to the local pet store and ask for a cleaner called natures minerals it has a chemical in it that they can no longer smell where they have resently peed it is a liquid so you put it on the spots and clean it just like you would use carpet cleaner except u use a old towel or rag. to get it up then give them a treat or put there food in that spot or spots!!! They will no longer want to use the bathroom where they eat or sleep!!!
