Maybe washing them will take the urine out but the smell will stick no matter what. There is a product out there called Urine-Off Here’s the link to the web site that sells it. Its amazing. I used it on my carpets and rugs and Im urine smell free… seriously it works.. the instructions are really easy too.
This is the only product that has taken the SMELL out of my carpets! it workshttp://www.findanyfloor.com/OnlineFloorS…

Bleach is the way to go with pet smells.
I use a cup of bleach with my pet bedding everytime I wash. If you have a Soak setting I also use that. I let them soak for about 30 minutes and I add an extra rinse cycle and fabric softener. The fabric softener will give it a less antiseptic smell.

I would wash them again in warm water with a 1/8 cup of bleach. not enough to do harm in a full washer but enough to kill the germs. I would add the bleach to the water and mix before adding the rugs/blankets. then add white distilled vinegar 1 cup or more to the rinse cycle.
