How Much Should I Pay To Have The Carpet Removed From A Room In My Apartment?

My friend is going to pull out the carpet in my bedroom. I don’t want to cheat him but have no idea what a fair price would be. The room is 20 square feet at the most and I will helping him. Any suggestions?

He shouldn’t charge you anything if you are helping. BTW it isn’t that difficult, you could do it yourself. but $20.00 seems fair I guess

Do it by yourself…. Or if he helps, buy dinner or something. If you do it yourself it isn’t that hard. Cut into sections, then pull up. Roll as you go and take it outside. Then do the same with the padding. For the tack boards, use a hammer and claw, then pry it off the floor. The carpet by your self will take maybe an hour. The tack board will probably take 2. It is time consuming, but easy. I did our living room by myself. Took 3 hours. It is 25ftX15ft. Or almost 400sq. ft.

Pay him for his time and expenses.
I don’t think a job like that will take long.
Pay at least $10/hour $20 minimum
How are you gonna dispose of it?
If your friend has to take it to the dump you should pay extra.

Don’t pay anyone – do it yourself. It’s easy. Cut it up in smaller strips for easier carrying. Rent a ute and take it to the tip yourself.

Carpet is not hard to pull up at all. If he’s your friend, he shouldn’t charge you for such a petty task. Offer to make him lunch or something instead…

Get yourself a sharp knife, and cut it up to manageable pieces, and take them to your local recycling dump.
