Probably adding a regular door on hinges. I’m building it by exending existing walls already carpeted up to. What is the best way to go about this without ripping up all the carpet. Can i build over existing carpet..frame it right over it?

My house inspector found asbestos tiles beneath the carpet, so I’m reluctant to nail through the carpet, through the tiles into the concrete. So, can I use some sort of adhesive to attach the bottom of the wall to the carpet and nail the top and sides of the wall to the existing structure?
