No matter what carpet cleaning company you choose, or if you live outside the Boise, Idaho area, follow these simple steps prior to your carpet cleaning appointment:

·         Please bring to your technician’s attention any spot or stains that may require special attention.

·         Please vacuum your carpet the day of the appointment.

·         Any small pieces, such as dining room chairs, magazine racks, floor plants, etc. which you can remove from the carpet to be cleaned will shorten processing time and return the carpet to normal use sooner.

·         For your pet’s peace of mind (and our’s) please put them in a safe, quiet, place where the cleaning won’t disturb them.

·         China cabinets, sectional sofas, entertainment centers, antiques, large TV’s, electronic equipment, computers, pianos and fragile furniture cannot be moved. Most companies will move any coffee tables, chairs, couches and smaller items that you would like. Beds, dressers, desks and other such heavier items may be moved upon request, usually for an additional charge. It is best to inform the company before the appointment if large items will need to be moved.

·         PLEASE DO NOT MOVE YOUR FURNITURE PRIOR TO CLEANING AS WE NEED TO PRESPRAY THE WALKWAYS. IF YOU DO MOVE FURNITURE, PLEASE MOVE IT OFF CARPETED AREAS.

·         Remove all breakable items from the furniture which will have to be moved temporarily.

·         You should always try to avoid walking on carpets that are not dry. Walk on carpet at your own risk until completely dry. Floors may be slippery when wet, especially walking from tile to carpet. Please advise all occupants of this hazard.

·         Infants that are crawling must remain off the carpet for 24 hours.

·         Keep children and pets away from hoses, equipment, cleaning products and work area.

·         Please pin up any full length draperies so that they will be at least 6 inches off the carpet.

·         Also, please pin up any skirts on upholstered furniture which may be touching the carpet.

·         MOST IMPORTANTLY, IF THERE IS ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO MAKE YOUR EXPERIENCE A BETTER ONE, LET THE COMPANY KNOW YOUR REQUEST. Good carpet cleaning companies will go out of their way to make sure you are completely satisfied. You should always choose a company that guarantees their work 100%.

Guiding You Towards the Best Homemade Carpet Cleaners Ever

Our carpet is a large part of our household, so when the carpet looks clean the rest of the house seems to sparkle just a little brighter. Unfortunately, the carpet is also where a lot of the spills and dirt seem to end up. The good news is that many of the stains you find on your carpet can be cleaned up in a jiffy with normal household products that we all generally have on hand. Before using any type of cleaner, even homemade carpet cleaners on your carpet, make sure you test for colorfastness on a small area of your carpet that is normally hidden from view. If you have the manufacturer’s instructions on how to care for your carpet, read these over as well before attacking any of your stains with homemade carpet cleaners. One of the biggest advantages to homemade carpet cleaners is that you know exactly what you are putting on your floor, unlike the chemical compounds you may encounter with commercial cleaners. And you might be surprised to learn that something as simple as white vinegar might be able to handle a tough job just as well as the commercial big boys, as long as you get to that stain quickly.Homemade Carpet Cleaners Most People Probably Have In Their HomeA solution of one tablespoon of white vinegar to detergent solution will work wonders at removing alcohol, coffee, chewing gum or shoe polish. Scrape lightly at the excess with a dull knife, then spray the vinegar solution and work from the outside of the stain in. Make sure you blot the spot completely dry when you are finished. Another good homemade carpet cleaner is made with one teaspoon of ammonia to one cup of water. This solution is good for really stubborn stains, such as blood, chocolate or glue. You can follow up both of these procedures with a solution of four parts water to one part vinegar. Spray the spot where the stain was and continue blotting the spot with dry, clean white paper towel until the carpet is completely dry. When using any homemade carpet cleaning solution, always remember to scrape up solid spills and blot up liquids. Never rub the stain since this can cause damage to your carpet fibers. And always, always make sure that your carpet is completely dry before leaving the stain alone. In the event that your homemade carpet cleaner does not take out the stain to your satisfaction, you will pave a smooth way for a professional to come in a finish the job by following these simple processes

Not Just an Unmemorable Encounter With Professional Carpet Cleaning Services

I bumped into one of my prim and proper neighbors who just happened to mention she had got her carpet cleaned through a professional carpet cleaning service. She gave me a list of instructions to go through before letting anyone touch the carpet. This included, speaking to the professional carpet cleaner himself instead of the sales representative, and then requesting a practical demonstration along with a detailed explanation of the cleaning equipment. She also suggested personally inspecting the equipment, reading the users manual and even the fine print on cleaning supplies! Not being that particular, I just went ahead and scheduled a visit by the professional carpet cleaning services. The Day I Had My Carpet CleanedThe day arrived earlier than I had planned and I was caught unprepared. The room was crowded with furniture and electronics and all sorts of rubbish. I was afraid the professional carpet cleaning service workers wouldn’t be too happy about the mess, but I watched in awe as they carefully removed every piece of furniture and then started work on the carpet. The workers of the professional carpet cleaning services tackled their job in a very organized way, giving special attention to the heavy traffic areas and the spots and spills in different places. The room was completed in twenty minutes straight and though I would rather wait, I was told that I could walk on the carpet with clean feet almost at once. In certain cases, due to the climate, carpets don’t dry that easily, in such situations, air conditioning or heating can be used.I had opted for the carpet protection treatment as well, but I wasn’t sure what it was exactly. On of the workers explained that this way the carpet would resist re-soiling quickly. The chemicals used form a protective wrapping around the carpet fibers and this prevents it from being deeply soiled with dirt, water and even oil based spills.I later learned that the professional carpet cleaning services provided, also included deodorizing services, water damage restoration services and even floor cleaning. The office was open 24 hours a day, through out the week and scheduling could also be done online.Seeing the excellent quality of the professional carpet cleaning services, I thanked my stars I hadn’t gone for the expensive portable cleaning machines. My sister had tried it once, the device was noisy, it leaked and was difficult to control. The carpet looked the same, at the end of all that work. The only thing new she got from the experience was a terrible backache.I was extremely satisfied with the results. My carpet looked whiter and all the colors seemed brighter. Everyone deserves some pampering, once in a while, even if it is just a good old carpet.

How to Take Good Care of Your Carpet

The carpet we bought to decorate our home is a big ticket item. I would like to take good care of it making sure it is always clean and smells good.

Proper carpet care involves our time and energy in the following:

Vacuum Cleaning

It prevents dirt from getting embedded deep down into the carpet fibers. In a perfect world, people who want to keep their carpets in the best shape possible can vacuum the carpet everyday. In our real world, vacuuming a high traffic area at least twice a week is realistic. For the best results, vacuum slowly over an area going back and forth and side to side in parallel rows about seven strokes for a high traffic area.

Shampoo Cleaning

From time to time shampoo the Carpet is necessary. It is a popular method to get carpets clean. Spray a shampoo solution onto the carpet. It loosens and absorbs deep down dirt. Allow the carpet to dry and then vacuum.

Steam cleaning

Another popular method of carpet cleaning is steam cleaning. This process uses a liquid-based cleaning agent and a steam-cleaning machine which brings dirt to the carpet’s surface.

Carpet Stains Cleaning

Shampooing and deep carpet cleaning are great ways to get dirty carpets clean but, what about keeping carpets free of stains? There is no way of avoiding stains no matter how much you try. At one point or another, someone is going to track mud into the house, spill a drink or drop a piece of food. The trick to getting carpet stains out is acting quickly. The longer the liquid is left on the floor the more of a chance it has to set in. Blot up any extra liquids as best you can. Never rub the carpet fibers. Rubbing only will cause the carpet fibers to weaken and could create a worn spot. Several different brands of carpet cleaners work very well in removing stains but, there are also a few home remedies that will work just as well. Blotting club soda on a stain with a clean, dry cloth works wonders. Baking soda and corn starch have been known to remove oil spots. Straight vinegar has also been known to remove chocolate and coffee stains.

Carpet Odors Cleaning

One of the first things that can form when you have a stain that is in the carpet for a long time is an odor. Odors can come from the germs that are gathering in the stains and they give off nasty smells. Wash the carpet in mild detergent with conditioner and to dry out the carpet in the sun for several hours to take out the odor. Make sure to completely dry out the carpet. Dampness in the carpet will only make the odor worse. Carpet freshening sprays can also help get rid of the odor.
