What Would Be The Best Tool To Remove Carpet Tacking From A Cement Floor?
I have a cement floor from which I removed some old carpet. The tacking was nailed to the floor with small nails. I have been using an old screwdriver to try and pry up the old tacking, but it is painstakingly slow. Does anyone have any suggestions on what type of tool to use to get under the tacking and pry it up more easily? I have also tried a putty knife but that is too flimsy. What could I use that is thin enough to slide under the gaps but strong enough to pry the tacking pieces up. I don’t care about the holes left in the cement, since I will have to do some resurfacing anyway.

How Do I Prepare A Cement Floor For Carpet Installation? Do I Need To Worry About Small Amounts Of Adhesive?
We removed old carpeting from our basement. It had been glued to the cement and though we used an ice scraper to remove most of the carpet foam there are spots where a slight residue remains. Do I need a special chemical to remove the residue, or will the new padding and carpet mask this?
