Jungle Carpet Python feeding on a chick
Best Watched In High Quality. My JCP eating her first chick. She’s been on mice up to now, still refuses rat. I was a bit apprehensive about feeding her a prey item this large. However, research shows that carpets can eat prey items 60% of there own bodyweight in the wild and since the chick was nowhere near that I thought I’d give it a try, worse case if it turned out to be too big she’d spit it out. As it happens she took it without much hassle. I generally leave her 2-3 days after a feed before handling, I think I’ll give her at least 4-5 days this time. Lovely little snake, was very snappy when I first got her but has calmed down nicely with regular handling. Oh, and apologies for the horrible shakiness………….

Handling My Young IJ Carpet Python
Carpets are known for being nippy when they’re young, and my Moby is no exception. I do not claim that this video will show you how to pick up any snake without getting bitten. This is just what works for my carpet and me.
