What Would Be The Best Tool To Remove Carpet Tacking From A Cement Floor?

I have a cement floor from which I removed some old carpet. The tacking was nailed to the floor with small nails. I have been using an old screwdriver to try and pry up the old tacking, but it is painstakingly slow. Does anyone have any suggestions on what type of tool to use to get under the tacking and pry it up more easily? I have also tried a putty knife but that is too flimsy. What could I use that is thin enough to slide under the gaps but strong enough to pry the tacking pieces up. I don’t care about the holes left in the cement, since I will have to do some resurfacing anyway.

How Do I Fasten Carpet Tacking To A Slab Floor?

I put new vinyl tile in my kitchen. In the spot where my kitchen meets my livingroom carpet I need to install a new metal divider and replace the old carpet tacking(which I had to tear out because I cut my carpet back 6″). I cannot fasten the tacking or the metal divider to my concrete slab floor. Any suggestions????
