What Would Happen If You Put Wood Flooring On Top Of Carpet?

We have carpeting on our stairs, And the **** is glued down good! What would happen if we took 1×10 and nailed them down really good over the carpet or do we got to tear all the stairs out and completely re due them? The carpet of what I have seen is only about 3/8 in. thick and no carpet pad underneath.

Can You Give Me A Ballpark Figure On What It Would Cost To Carpet A 12×12 Room, In Berber?

I would love to get new carpet. I am not really able to run to different carpet stores to check prices. I’m thinking that a fair quality of berber would meet my needs pretty well. I’ve heard it’s fairly inexpensive.
Any guesstimates?
Thanks!

How Would I Find Information About Dying A Carpet A Different Color?

I’m doing some research for my boss….he just rented out a new office building and he wants to make a couple changes. Somehow it finds on me to figure all of this stuff out and I know NOTHING about interior decorating! He wants to dye the carpet…I don’t know if it’s possible to DYE carpet but he specifically told me to check how much it would cost to dye around 1500 square feet of carpet.

What Color Would You Paint The Walls If You Have Dark Purple Carpet?

My kids share a room. It was orignally setup for a girl. I just had a baby boy I’m trying to convert it for both of them. Right now it has dark purple carpet and light purple walls with white trim. I would like to make it a little more boy and girlish verses girly. Any ideas? Also I want to keep the carpet.

What Would Be The Best Tool To Remove Carpet Tacking From A Cement Floor?

I have a cement floor from which I removed some old carpet. The tacking was nailed to the floor with small nails. I have been using an old screwdriver to try and pry up the old tacking, but it is painstakingly slow. Does anyone have any suggestions on what type of tool to use to get under the tacking and pry it up more easily? I have also tried a putty knife but that is too flimsy. What could I use that is thin enough to slide under the gaps but strong enough to pry the tacking pieces up. I don’t care about the holes left in the cement, since I will have to do some resurfacing anyway.
